Masters and PhD degree holders of the relevant field of studies are eligible to be a member of Bangladesh Association of Librarian, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID). But any one be an honorary member, who has affection and contribution for this profession.

Types of Membership:

a. Corporate Member: Corporate Members are two types:

a.1. Member: A person who has master degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent degree is eligible fro as a member.

a.2. Fellow: Masters in Library and Information Science or equivalent with 15 years professional experience or PhD in LIS with 7 years professional experience and special contribution in the relevant field.


b. Non-Corporate Member: This members are two types:

b.1. Associate Member: A student who is reading in bachelor (honours) programme or post graduate level in the subject of Library and Information Science or equivalent is eligible.

b.2. Honorary Member: A person who has affection with this profession or who has contributed to develop this profession or served for the nation is eligible for Honorary Member.

Voting Power of Member:

Only Corporate Members have voting power.


How to get the Membership:

To get any kind of membership of BALID have to submit a filled up prescribed membership form, selected membership fees ( Cash/Draft/Pay order), a recent passport size photograph, attested documents to prove his/her eligibly of membership.


Membership fees:

Bd Taka 500.00 for Life and Bd Taka 40.00 for yearly
