BALID Silver Jubilee Celebration

Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) has celebrated its 25th Anniversary through a three-month long programmes beginning on 17 September 2011. The Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the programme as chief guest at Aparajeyo Bangla  that was followed by a rally towards Jatiya Press Club.

The programme was jointly organized by the Departments of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka and Rajshahi University, and the Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB).

Later a press conference was held at Jatiya Press Club where Professor Dr. S.M Mannan read out 10 demands of BALID.

About 500 library professionals, teachers and students along with journalists took part in the event.
