Training on Integrated Library Management System - Koha held at ULAB during 06-08 October 2016
A three day long training program on Integrated Library Management System ‘KOHA’ organized by BALID Institute of Information Management (BIIM), Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) in collaboration with University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) from 06-08 October 2016 was successfully completed at Computer Lab of ULAB Campus-B, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209.
A Certificate Award Ceremony was arranged in the evening of the concluding day on 08 October 2016. Professor Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) was the Chief Guest of the Certificate Award Ceremony of this three day long training program.
Among others Professor Md. Kaykobad, Dean, EEE, BUET and Mr. Mofidul Hoque, Member, BoT, Liberation War Museum delivered their valuable speeches as the special guests of the program. Dr. Md. Mirza Md. Rezaul Islam, Librarian, IUT and Training Coordinator of BIIM gave the welcome address while Dr. Sumon Rahman, Coordinator, Library Affairs and Associate Professor, MSJ, ULAB offered the vote of thanks on the occasion. Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Chairman, BALID & BIIM was the Chairperson of this Certificate Award Ceremony.
Mr. Kazi Farhad Noman and Mr A.K.M. Nurul Alam (Apu), the two promising Executive Members of BALID, were the resource persons of the three day’s training program. A total of thirty five library and IT professionals from various renowned organizations and universities took part in the training program.
The main purpose of the training program was to enhance operation of library services through library management system ‘KOHA’ with a view to automate libraries in Bangladesh.
Distinguished library professionals from various institutions were also present in the certificate award ceremony.
